Record Search Procedure

​All searches commence from 1973 to present unless there is a specific request to research a further back in time. No record searches are conducted over the telephone and must be in writing.

The following procedure and information are required when requesting the Clerk of Courts to conduct a Record Search:

 

 Private Individuals

$ 36.50 per search
$ 14.50 per certified copy requested
$ 0.50 per copy requested

 

Submit in writing a request to conduct a criminal record search and include the individual's name, address, date of birth and social security number if available. Include a check or money order made payable to "Clerk of Courts" with the required fee.

Unless you are requesting copies of any information found, you will receive an official court seal letter stating the criminal charges, offense date and disposition of the case or cases filed against that individual. Should you require copies of the record, upon receipt of the required fees, those copies will be mailed to you.

Anyone who wishes to conduct their own Record Search, may do so free of charge by visiting the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s public web site at: ujsportal.pacourts.us. You may then select “Docket Sheets”; from there you may choose which type of search you wish to conduct.

 

 Government Agencies and Police Departments

 

​Submit in writing or by fax on your official letterhead, the individuals' name, address, date of birth and social security number if available. Without proper identification of your agency, record searches will not be conducted.

In addition, we have two (2) public access terminals which are available to the public should they wish to conduct a record search on an individual themselves.
