Court of Common Pleas - Motions Practice

​Motions Court will be held each day at 9:00 a.m. to receive all miscellaneous motions, emergency motions, and all other motions, with the following exceptions:

  1. Motions, which are contested, are to be presented to the judge assigned to that category of cases. Counsel must make arrangements with each other to appear at a time designated below.
  2. A motion in any case which has been assigned to a judge is to be presented to that judge regardless if the motion is contested or uncontested.
  3. A motion involving the scheduling of a matter in a case, which has not been assigned to a particular judge, shall be presented to the judge assigned to the applicable category of cases.

If a specific case has been assigned to a specific judge, all motions to be presented in that case must be presented to the judge to whom the case has been assigned or that judge’s posted replacement.
