The Mission of
The Treasurer is to
properly receive and perform the accounting of all monies due the county and to
keep records of all disbursements from the county treasury.
A complete ledger system of receipts and disbursements has been set up and
computerized to keep a daily balance of over ninety accounts. The
computerization of tax records has been incorporated into the data processing
system, which includes a record-keeping system whereby all checks are
microfilmed, filed, and available for viewing on microfiche equipment. |

To ensure accountability
the Treasurers office goes through
three (3) separate external audits performed each year. These audits are
conducted on liquid fuels, the treasurers office and the Commonwealth (meaning
all licenses and permits issued by the Treasurer). These audits are all
conducted by the State of Pennsylvania. Results of the audits are available
from the County Commissioners office, the County Controller's office or the
County Treasurer's Office. |
