| Notable
Accomplishments: |
Since
my Election in 1996, I have advanced the Recorder of Deeds
Office into the 21st Century by being the first in Beaver
County to install a state-of-the art computer system which
scans, digitizes and receipts documents. Our Records were
the first on the internet and continue to be a free service
to the public, attorneys, and real estate companies, which
gives easy access to our records making it more convenient
for everyone. |

| Future
Plans: |
Jan
is now working to index and scan records prior to the
implementation of our computer system in 1998. Currently
this project has successfully backscanned and indexed
deed records to 1957 and Mortgage records to 1974. Also,
a program is in place to convert handwritten volumes from
1800 to 1918 which will be helpful to genealogy researchers
looking for more readable records and clearer copies.
This a long term project which Jan is utilizing her time
and knowledgeable staff to maximize resources complete
this goal. |
