COMMISSIONERS DEDICATE NEW LINKS BRIDGE IN INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP
On Thursday, September 14, 2007 Beaver County Commissioners Joe Spanik and Charles A. Camp joined Independence Township officials to dedicate the new Links Bridge. This $1.7 million project replaces an aging structure that no longer met the needs of the residents, businesses, and students in the Hopewell Area School District. County bridge chairman Commissioner Charles A. Camp commented that “Beaver County is responsible for the maintenance of fifty-five bridges and over the past eight years, I have led an aggressive program to replace or repair over a dozen older, unsafe structures. In fact, this is the tenth new bridge in seven years – a county record. With the co-operation of Commissioners Spanik and Donatella, we have been able to identify the most urgent needs and then fix them.”
