Register of Wills
Services
The Beaver County Register of Wills acts as the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court. This is a fee office, which means that a specific charge is made for each service performed. It is a complex, semi-legal office dealing with attorneys, the courts, and the public. It performs a variety of duties, some of which are:
- Receipt of wills for probate
- Issuance of letters of administration in cases of persons who have died intestate
- Collection of inheritance taxes due the Commonwealth
- Record adoptions in Beaver County
- Receive and index all petitions processed in Orphans' Court
- Issue marriage licenses
- Duplicate old marriage licenses
- House birth and death records from 1893 through 1906
- Record guardianships for incapacitated individuals
- Old Wills and Orphans' Court Records

The Register of Wills will provide a free informational program to groups and organizations regarding wills, inheritance taxes, guardianships, marriage licenses, and historical records maintained in the office.
