A graduate of Aliquippa High School, Penn State University and the Western New England School of Law in Springfield, MA, Judge Mitchell P. Shahen was elected to serve as a judge for the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County in November of 2017 for a 10 year term.
 
Admitted to the Bar in 1983, Judge Shahen practiced law for almost 35 years before taking the bench.  He represented clients in family, civil and criminal litigation and argued cases before the Superior and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and a number of administrative agencies. Judge Shahen’s experience also included serving as solicitor for a number of municipalities and zoning boards. He also served on the Board of Governors of the Beaver County Bar Association and has been an active member of the Bar Association for many years.
 
Judge Shahen is an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Hopewell.  He and his wife reside in Center Township and are the parents of two children.
