Pistol (Sportsman's Firearm) Permits
This permit is valid only in conjunction with going to or from the place where you hunt, fish, trap or train dogs. It is not valid for any other reason.
Requirements
- This is for the use of pistols for hunting purposes only.
- All (Sportsman Firearm) pistol permits must be applied for in person, at any of the Pennsylvania County Treasurers offices.
- The Applicant must: Present a valid hunting, fishing, fur taking license, or a permit relating to hunting dogs.
- Present another valid form of identification, preferable a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid for 5 years from date of purchase.
- You must produce this permit and your applicable license upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer.
Fee: $6.00 per permit
Payable to the Beaver County Treasurer, Sandie Egley.
An individual that has a License to Carry permit DOES NOT need a Sportsman's Firearm Permit (a.k.a. Pistol Permit) to hunt/fish/train with a lawful handgun as defined by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. [refer to Pennsylvania Code Title 18 Chapter 61 Section 6 or 1606(b)(9)(10) and (c)(1)]
A Sportsman's Firearm Permit is NOT a License to Carry a firearm concealed.
THIS PERMIT IS NOT AVAILABLE BY MAIL AND WILL NOT BE ISSUED OR RELEASED TO FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS ON BEHALF OF THE APPLICANT. YOU MUST APPLY IN PERSON. REMEMBER, THIS IS A PERMIT TO CARRY A HANDGUN WITH RESTRICTED CONDITIONS.
