Buttermilk Falls This all-natural area features a 40-foot scenic sandstone formation and waterfall. The area is geologically recognized as home to Homewood Sandstone used locally in bridge piers, tunnels, roadways and in the construction of Western Penitentiary in Pittsburgh.
