About Beaver County
Beaver County is located in the southwest part of the state of Pennsylvania. Bordering Lawrence County on the north, Butler County on the east, Allegheny County on the southeast, Washington County on the south, and the states of Ohio and West Virginia on the west. Beaver County was carved out of Washington and Allegheny Counties in 1800. In the mid 1800's, a portion of north Beaver County was incorporated to form part of what is now Lawrence County.
From a lifestyle perspective much of the county is made up of single family homes situated on spacious lots with many river communities being transformed into pedestrian friendly environments of small friendly, home style communities. The County’s Motto, “Divided by its Rivers, United by its People” truly reflects the County’s heritage of a good place to live, work and play. PA 2-1-1 Southwest Connects Callers to Human Services Resources
Southwestern Pennsylvania residents in need of human services can now dial 2-1-1, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and reach a trained Resource Navigator who can connect them with human services resources in their community.
PA 2-1-1 Southwest, is currently available in Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, Indiana, Mercer, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Further expansion will take PA 2-1-1 Southwest into Beaver, Greene and Lawrence counties in the near future.
Act 164 of 2014 - Changes to Tax Collector Procedures
House Bill 1590 was signed into law by Governor Corbett on October 2, 2014. It amends the Local Tax Collection Law to require all tax collectors to complete the Department of Community and Economic Development training and certification program, which is currently voluntary, before taking the oath of office.
Beaver County Deaths Related to Drug Overdoses
The Beaver County Coroner’s Office and the Beaver County Behavioral Health SCA have teamed up with the Allegheny Medical Examiner’s office and the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy to bring residents of Beaver County the following website: www.overdosefreepa.pitt.edu. Funded by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), the website is based at the pharmacy school’s Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU).
This site will give you all the data of Beaver County deaths from 2012 to 2015 related to drug overdoses. 2016 data will be posted soon and will be updated twice a month.
