Detention
The term detention is used to refer to three types of care: secure detention, shelter and temporary foster care. Secure detention services are provided through the Jefferson County Detention Center, Steubenville, OH. Shelter services are provided through Cray House in New Castle, PA Keystone in Greenville, PA and Mars Home for Youth in Mars. PA.
Temporary foster care is provided through Beaver County Children and Youth Services Foster Care. Only juveniles who are charged with a delinquent act may be considered for admission to secure detention. The law further sets forth legal criteria that must be met for admission to secure detention.
