Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have custody papers here?
Yes. There are different forms depending on what action you need or what step you are at in the custody process. Various forms for custody can be found on our website.

Can I make copies, here, at the Law Library?
Yes. Copies are available for 20 cents per page. We cannot print in color. Attorneys can ask about setting up a ‘copier account’ for ease of printing purposes.

Can I check out books here? Unfortunately, we are not a public library, so our books may only be checked out to attorneys or officers of the court. The public is welcome to visit and may browse materials for in-library use only.

Do you have form X, Y, or Z?
Many forms are available on our website. They are free to print if you have access to a printer. I cannot tell you what form you need, but this is a price list for most of the forms available in-person at the library. If you need a more specialized form, one not offered through the Pro Se center, I’d advise contacting an attorney.

I just received X in the mail, and I have no idea where to start. How do I contact an attorney?
There are a few ways to access legal resources.

  • There is a book directory within the Law Library.
  • The Beaver County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service can be reached at 724-728-4888. An initial consult is $25 for 30 minutes.
  • Public Defender of Beaver County, the office can be reached at 724-770-4500, for representation in criminal cases for those who qualify for services.
  • Neighborhood Legal Services can be called at 724-378-0595. NLS may be able to assist in civil cases for those who qualify for their services.
